Sever’s Disease

• Painful inflammation at the calcaneal apophysis (heel growth plate) caused by repetitive microtrauma (overuse)

• Typically ages for girls (8-10), boys (10-12)

• When the foot is growing the muscles can get tight pulling on that growth plate in the heel

• Usually pain with weight bearing
